Would you like to work in the disability sector in Australia?
Australia’s health care and social assistance sector is set to employ an additional 250,000 people over the next five years. Participants in EPIC’s Carers Project will have the opportunity to build knowledge and skills in an Australian context, to get you job ready for employment in the disability sector.
Successful completion of a disability skill set will equip you with the skills for working in the Australian Disability Sector. Your prior knowledge paired with additional study in Australia, will ensure you are job ready for employment.
About the course
In this course you will gain a Disability Skill Set from the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support. The 8 week course will run each weekday from 9 am to 3 pm. The course will be delivered face-to-face by experienced trainers. You are expected to complete assessments and additional study online in your own time. The course includes an additional 100 hours of voluntary work placement which EPIC will arrange for you.
You will study 4 units from the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support
The units you will study are:
- CHCDIS001 Contribute to ongoing skills development using a strengths-based approach
- CHCDIS002 Follow established person-centred behaviour supports
- CHCDIS003 Support community participation and social inclusion
- CHCDIS007 Facilitate the empowerment of people with disability
- Plus 100 hours of work placement.
The training will be delivered in an Australian context with Australian legislation, this will equip you with the knowledge to work within the Australian disability sector.
At the completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment, this will be beneficial when applying for jobs in the disability sector in Australia. This will increase your employability and help you get a job.
CHCSS00098 – Disability Skill Set from the CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support
The cost to complete the Disability Skills Set is 2,300 EUR. This includes the delivery and assessment of all modules and industry placement.
For an additional fee, EPIC Assist can help you organise the certificates and checks needed to work in the disability sector. We can also provide you with job placement assistance.
- Working with children check, police check, first aid certificate (200 EUR)
- Job placement assistance (499 EUR)
The total price for all three services is 2,999 EUR. Pay for all three services prior to departing Europe for 2,900 EUR – a saving of 99 EUR.
The first intake will commence in September 2018.

Who is eligible?
To be eligible to apply you will need to obtain an Australian Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 417 or 462) for more information visit: www.border.gov.au
Education or previous experience in social services is advantageous. You will be asked to supply your resume and copies of your qualifications.
All training and assessment will be conducted in English so you will need to be proficient in written and verbal English. A Language, Literacy and Numeracy review will be conducted to determine eligibility to join the training program. Training resources and assessment occur using our online Learning Management System so computer skills are required.
Applicants will be supplied with a Student Handbook which outlines enrolment information to assist you with making a decision to join EPIC’s Carers Project.
Where will I study?
This course will be delivered in Brisbane – the sunny and sophisticated capital city of Queensland. Brisbane enjoys a sub-tropical climate and relaxed, outdoor lifestyle. The city is located close to the Gold Coast and the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef.
